About the Clinicians:

Randy GreenwellRandy Greenwell is recently retired from Lawrence Township Schools, Indianapolis, Indiana, where he served 24 years of a 32 year teaching career. While at Lawrence Central High School, Randy served as the Director of Bands and Department Chair for Performing Arts. In January of 2017, Randy accepted a position as the Educational Support Manager (Central Region), for Conn Selmer. He now travels the country, working with bands, music educators, presenting clinics on a host of topics and assisting schools with their music education initiatives.

 

Michael KruegerMichael Krueger is the Director of Instrumental Studies and Music Theory Head at Notre Dame College. At NDC, Michael directs the NDC Wind Symphony and NDC Falcon Marching Band, teaches applied composition lessons, and teaches academic courses in music theory. In 2016, Michael joined the drum major and student leadership staff for Fred J. Miller.

 

Festival Information

Friday-Saturday, February 15-16, 2019. 
$50 per student (includes music, meals and clinician fees)

Housing is not provided. Each student is responsible for supplying their own instrument, pencil, and music stand. Percussionist are NOT required to supply instruments (NDC has wonderful equipment) but they are asked to bring mallets and sticks.

High School students will have the opportunity to rehearse in an exclusive ensemble with high class conductors, participate in masterclass with NDC Applied Faculty, and perform in a joint public concert with the NDC Wind Symphony.  

Students must be nominated for this honor. Instrumental directors should check their students' availability prior to submitting their nomination.  

Auditions for placement will be held on the first day of the festival. Audition material will be all major scales and sight-reading.

4 p.m.: Registration and Placement Auditions 

6 p.m.: Dinner

7 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Opening rehearsal with Michael Krueger and Randy Greenwell

 

Saturday, February 16th

9 a.m.: Rehearsal #2

Noon: Lunch

1 p.m.: Masterclasses with NDC faculty
1 p.m.: Directors session with Michael Krueger and Randy Greenwell

2:15 p.m.: Rehearsal #3

5 p.m.: Dinner (on your own).

7:30 p.m.: NDC Wind Symphony and NDC Honor Band Concert
